︎︎︎ My final project explores the intersection of traditional media, exemplified by Polaroid film, and the cutting-edge realm of new media, incorporating projectors and computers.

︎︎︎ Photography serves as the focal point, with daily life new media device films captured through Polaroid juxtaposed against their scanned counterparts projected by the computer.

︎︎︎ The printed Polaroid images undergo a transformative process, where the new media device images are sampled and quantified into pixelated data.

︎︎︎ Subsequently, these digital renditions evolve into dynamic visuals through various computer-based platforms. This amalgamation of new media with Polaroid films, altering their resolution and form, provocatively challenges the conventional boundaries of what is considered new media.

︎︎︎ One chapter in the "Language of New Media" particularly captivated me, shedding light on the nuanced essence of new media. The contemporary definition of new media predominantly aligns with computing technologies, sidelining non-computer-based texts from its purview.

︎︎︎ In harmony with Lev Manovich's perspective, I find this definition excessively constricting. Personally, I perceive a realm of convergence between new media and alternative forms, crafting a fusion that exudes a captivating and unconventional aesthetic.

︎︎︎ To achieve an interactive experience, I decided to use TouchDesigner as the tool to generate the dynamic smog visual effect.

︎︎︎ For the physical films, I attempted to take specific site pictures with Polaroid Color 600 films and create burning special effects over the surface.
