💭️Concept💭️

︎︎︎Kill That Cute is a series of interactive installations filled with tactile fluffy fur, the concept of which discusses cute aggression and dimorphous expression of emotions.

︎︎︎Kill That Cute Series #2 mainly consists of the tactile fluffy fur, vintage television, and the hidden force sensing resistor used for interactions.

︎︎︎ By appreciating the piece, the viewer can enjoy the overwhelming positive emotions stimulated and interact with the fluffy creation.

💡Inspiration💡

︎︎︎ Since I was a child, I have always been experiencing the mixture feeling of caring and aggression towards the adorable surroundings.

︎︎︎Gradually familiar and obsessed with the mixture of emotional contradictions, I started to dig into the cause, finding that the special overwhelming desire to overly caring the object relates to the concept of “Cute Aggression”.

︎︎︎As an example of the dimorphous expression of emotions, cute aggression is associated with the urge some people get to squeeze, crush, or bite cute things, but without any desire to cause harm.

︎︎︎ To achieve an interactive experience, I decided to use TouchDesigner as the tool to let the audience interplay with the fur space.

︎︎︎ When the viewers touch the heart plush, they can hear the heartbeat sound gradually louder, with the dynamic vibration of the visual becoming chaotic.

︎︎︎ Especially, viewers are free to interact with the fur such as caressing, combing and squeezing the plush.
